Practice policies
Cancellation Policy
In order to provide efficient service to all our clients, we have a cancellation policy in place.
A $40 cancellation fee will be charged for all cancellations made less than 12 hours before the scheduled appointment.
Clients who cancel with more than 12 hours notice will not incur any charges.
We understand that emergencies may arise, and exceptions to this policy will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
No-Show Policy
At The Blackest Sheep, we ask our valued clients to adhere to our no-show policy. If an appointment is missed without notice, a $50 fee will be applied to your account.
This policy ensures that our team's time is respected and available slots are utilized effectively. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, so please inform us as soon as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Emergency Procedures
The Blackest Sheep does not provide crisis counseling services. If you are experiencing a crisis between appointments, please contact 988 (The Suicide Prevention Hotline), or visit your nearest emergency room.
Telecommunication
When discussing sensitive medical information, it is crucial that we communicate through a HIPAA-compliant platform to ensure the protection of your personal data. The Blackest Sheep aims to prioritize confidentiality and privacy by utilizing a secure communication channel that aligns with HIPAA regulations.
Discharge/termination
At The Blackest Sheep, clients have the autonomy to discharge at any time with the resources available to them. We respect our clients' decisions and provide the necessary support to ensure a smooth transition out of our services. Our aim is to empower individuals to take control of their journey and make choices that align with their best interests. If a client chooses to discharge, we work collaboratively to equip them with the tools and guidance needed to continue their progress independently.
Clients who have not communicated with us for a period of six weeks will have their services automatically terminated.
This policy is designed to ensure that we can effectively manage our resources and focus on clients who actively engage with services. Terminated clients are welcome to reinstate services; however, this will be subject to availability.
We understand that circumstances can vary, and exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Clients experiencing extenuating circumstances should contact The Blackest Sheep to discuss their situation.
Additional Guest Policy for Therapy Sessions
To maintain a focused therapeutic environment, please notify your clinician at least 48 hours in advance if you plan to bring an additional guest or pet to an in-person or telehealth session. Requests will be reviewed individually, and while we strive to accommodate your needs, not all requests may be possible. For in-person sessions, discuss any specific needs with your clinician ahead of time. For telehealth sessions, ensure that additional guests or pets do not disrupt the session. Our goal is to support your needs while ensuring an effective therapy setting.
Litigation Limitation
Clients and their attorneys are advised to refrain from involving their therapist in legal disputes. While therapists play a vital role in providing support and guidance for mental health concerns, they are not equipped to offer legal advice or assistance. To ensure the best outcomes for all parties involved, it is essential to consult with a qualified legal professional for any legal matters or disputes.
Please be informed that there is a $500 retainer fee applicable for all court appearances on behalf of a client. This must be paid prior to the court appearance by credit/debit card prior to the court date or the client’s next appointment.
